Hi, i was working with previous versions of VB; I have the "host based" configuration, I have virtual adapters working with bridge, one adapter per virtual machine. When I upgrade to the 1.6 release, it stop working. I have tryed uninstalling everything (including the VB it self) but nothing help. I have tryed all the configurations of nework hardware but nothing happend. I have the guest with winxp sp2. I have tyed with dhcp and with static IP. No one works. When I use dhcp, i get an invalid address; when I use static, I cant connect with he "out side world". My actual configuration is: Host: Windows Vista Ultimate Athlon XP 2400+ 1Gb Ram 32Mb video MSI main board dual 120Gb Guest: WinXp SP2 with the defaults of RAM and HD. I have another machine (host) with the same problem, but this machine is: Athlon x64 3200 2G RAM dual 500Gb ASUS main board 256 Video Vista Ultimate |

| Description |
VB 1.6 WinXP on Vista (64b) host, WinXP Pro (32b) as guest Desktop custom based on 680i and Q6600 I have not been able to use USB flash disks. I plug the usb disk, host OS does not detect it when the VM is on. (When I close VirtualBox host detects them.) But guest also does not detect them. I think the guest system has a problem with the USB driver. The link to start this flash drive appears but do nothing. My keyboard and my mouse works, but not a simple USB key. I have the same behaviour than a lot of other posters everywhere in the forum. I should also mention that the link to load the Additions didn't work, I had to mount the image and install it. Could it be linked ? I also need the serial port, I didn't test it yet, I fear I will have to opt for a dual-boot instead of virtualized OS if it doesn't work. Update : I reverted to 1.5.6 Now when I plug my USB flash drive, a beautiful BSOD appear. (BSOD : 0x0000000a (0x0000000000000010, 0x000000000000000c, 0x000000000 every time) Both case : VM 1.6 addition 1.6, VM 1.5.6 additions 1.5.6 Also tryd 1.5.6 in a 1.6 VM, no result. |
