| #8794 | obsolete | latest update breaks Java on XP guest | ||
| Description |
Windows XP 32bit guest, Linux Ubuntu 10.04 32bit host. Recently, I found I cannot run any Java application that has a GUI component. Running "java -version" in Command Prompt works fine, but any Java app that has a GUI, including the Java Control Panel, results in nothing happening on the screen, and the CPU usage goes to 100% due to javaw.exe A work-around is to go to Control Panel / System / Advanced / Environment Variables / System Variables and add a variable called "J2D_D3D" with the value "false". This will supposedly disable Direct3D in Java. But this is not a proper solution. BTW, this bug has occurred before. This is not the first time. Please make sure it is not repeated all over again. Thank you. |

| #8798 | obsolete | Async I/O thread probably stuck in operation | ||
| Description |
One of the VDI files is located at an external iSCSI disk, which is mounted at the host, because of historical reasons. At high IO-load at the iSCSI disk an IO_ERR_TIMEOUT event occurs at Win2003r2 Guest and the drive located at that disk will be removed. The Windows Eventlog is: "The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period." at VBox Log: 03:46:39.867 PIIX3 ATA: Ctl#0: RESET, DevSel=0 AIOIf=1 CmdIf0=0xca (-1 usec ago) CmdIf1=0x39 (9777309 usec ago) 03:46:39.889 PIIX3 ATA: Async I/O thread probably stuck in operation, interrupting . . . 03:50:08.051 PIIX3 ATA: Async I/O thread probably stuck in operation, interrupting 03:50:08.061 PIIX3 ATA: Async I/O thread probably stuck in operation, interrupting 03:50:08.065 PIIX3 ATA: Ctl#0: RESET, DevSel=1 AIOIf=1 CmdIf0=0xca (-1 usec ago) CmdIf1=0x39 (57922482 usec ago) 03:50:08.075 PIIX3 ATA: Async I/O thread probably stuck in operation, interrupting |

| #8800 | obsolete | Virtual machine is INACCESSIBLE after new add-on | ||
| Description |
Folks: Today (4/27/11) I installed 4.0.6 on a Windows 7 machine with a Win XP Virtual Machine. After booting, it told me I need to download install 'VirtualBox 4.0.6 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' which I did. That installation stopped dead during the video driver section so I did a normal shutdown of the virtual machine. When I started VirtualBox Manager, it would NOT come up at all, so I re-installed the 'VirtualBox-4.0.6-71416-Win.exe'. Now the virtual machine is listed, but 'Inaccessible' with NO error message shown. Last three log files are attached. Thank you. |
