| #1472 | fixed | VirtualBox 1.6.0 Vista Home Premium install gets stuck at Unpacking files | ||
| Description |
I think Unpacking files is the proper translation from my local language. On every install the point where it gets stuck seems to be bit different. Out of numerous tries I have managed to install it only once succesfully. Looking at htop output VirtualBox seems to be using all CPU power but nothing really happens. I am trying the new sata disk feature. The host is Gentoo x86 install. betelgeuse@pena ~ $ uname -a Linux pena 2.6.25-gentoo-r1 #1 SMP Sat Apr 19 13:20:10 EEST 2008 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux |

| #1473 | worksforme | Upgrade to 1.6 capped max resolution for XP guest | ||
| Description |
I upgraded virtualbox from 1.5.6 to 1.6 (including the guest additions) on my 32-bit Ubuntu Hardy host and so far have only one problem with my Windows XP install: The max resolution offered for the guest is at 1152x864 whereas in vbox 1.5.6 I could switch to 1280x1024 without any problems. Fullscreen and Seamless mode function normally, I don't see any other problems. 1GB assigned to the guest on my Athlon Dualcore 3800+ 2GB + nvidia 7600 box and powered up the virtual graphics card's memory to the max of 128MB as well. |

| #1474 | wontfix | Windows 2000 host lacking | ||
| Description |
Windows 2000 host support was removed from VirtualBox 1.6, which is quite unfortunate, because this system is still used in some enterprises. Just few months ago I had to work on Windows 2000 to run some virtualization app on it. Original discussion: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?p=22027#22027 since Windows 2000 and XP internally are brothers (nearly identical), I believe, that supporting Windows 2000 shouldn't take much effort. Revive this host support if possible, even if limited. (no bridging, VT, 64-bit, whatever, ...) This is a real blocker issue for *some* users. -Technologov, 4.5.2008. |
