| #12612 | obsolete | Issues with 2D acceleration on large video sizes | ||
| Description |
I am having screen redraw / 2D acceleration issues when I am dealing with large enough windows under winXP. This is making working with CAD application in full-screen impossible, since CAD applications tend to redraw the whole screen far too often. Issue is 2D acceleration-related, but could not find such a component on the bug reporting system, please edit accordingly if misplaced. However, issue is not specific to using CAD applications with VBox; It exists on ALL applications as long as its windows are large enough. The issuecan be very easily reproduced by following the below steps:
Tried this reproduction procedure on a second identical host computer (27" iMac 11,1; OS X 10.8.5; 8GB RAM) by creating another fresh winXP VM and behavior is exactly the same. On both cases, there is no CPU hog whatsoever on the guest OS. Tried under win7 guest OS, and dragging would be OK, as well as observed 2D acceleration. However, I have found another ticket (#10953) whose author claims having issues under win7 guest OS. Related forum threads: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=59556 (created by me on the issue) https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=36267 (related to bigger screen resolution I guess) As a side note, working with CAD applications under Parallels Desktop produces no similar issues (let alone window dragging), on the same host systems. |

| #3465 | fixed | CentOS host couldn't talk to Windows guest => Fixed in SVN | ||
| Description |
I have host networking with cent os 5.2 host and windows xp guest and assigned a static ip to the guest OS. Internet works fine from guest. But from host can't talk to guest. I tried turning off the firewalls. If I do traceroute from host to guest IP, all hops failed. I tested the same vbox guest with fedora 10 64bit, fedora 8 32bit host systems and all working fine. If I use NAT networking, i can talk to host from guest. I am thinking it must be something vbox is doing in CentOS. |
