| #1441 | fixed | High CPU usage and guest crash | ||
| Description |
Hi first, I have a windows XP SP2 with VBox 1.5.6. The problem occurs with 1.5.4 too. I have crashes on windows guest start-up, even during installation. I cannot use VBox. The problem may come from my system, but I have not clue about the cause. I tried to uninstall and reinstall VBox, different version, but still the same problem. Find attached the logs file. Another issue: Having a windows guest cause HIGH cpu load: 1 full core per virtual machines: 50% cpu usage cause I have a Intel dual core CPU. Setting the CPU affinity of the virtual machine (virtualbox.Exe) to CPU 0 fix the problem immediately, but not on CPU 1 on witch the problem remain. I tried with virtual box 1.5.4 and 1.5.6 with the same problem. Note that I have no problem using the same virtual machine on a single core computer, or if i disable the dual core on my host computer. Hope somebody can help. |

| #1442 | fixed | gnome prob with expandable menus | ||
| Description |
I ran guest additions on a brand new ubuntu 8.0.4 with xp host. The mouse clicks the expanding menus on any gnome display (file browser etc or terminal)(the terminal will replicate itself using right click!) and must be held down and moved to select. Otherwise it is normal prior to the guest addition. Normal meaning one clicks the field and the expanded items available for selection remain expanded until one hence clicks the desired item. This problem of more holding than necessary (i.e., arm fatigue/or battery drain) does not happen with the old ubuntu 7.10 version. This has been confirmed by me to be caused by the guest addition by two vm instances. |

| #1443 | obsolete | Flexlm with USB dongle fails if rdp is used | ||
| Description |
Hello there, I would like to run Virtualbox on a linux server system with Windows XP as guest. The windows machine should work as a licence manager based on flexlm and a SafeNet USB dongle. My setup is as follows: Server OpenSUSE 10.2 Guest: Windows XP Virtualbox: 1.5.6 Network attached to host interface Guest Additions Installed All works fine up to one feature: if I try to contact the Windows guest via rdp either from Windows remotedesktop or rdesktop on linux the vendor daemon for flexlm says the dongle can't be read any more. Despite of this the hardware manager on windows says the dongle is there and he is working. Closing the rdp connection and restarting flexlm then works fine again. So what does the rdp connection do with the USB? Thanks for any hint. Klaus |
