#2668 fixed USB problem xfernandez
Description

Hi

I create a filter using the vendor ID of an USB device.

I run the virtual machine and wait.

When the VM is inicializated I connect the USB device and appears the error (More or less) --> Sun xVM VirtualBox interface has crashed.

I debug the error and appears this error (Sorry, I translate the error from spanish): No controlled exception in 0x1001b8f6 on VBoxSVC.exe: 0xC0000005. Access violation when is reading the 0x00000028 location.

thanks

#2671 fixed Shared Folders don't work with Ubuntu 8.10 as guest Poseidon
Description

Host: Windows XP pro sp2
Guest: Ubuntu 8.10
Installing Guest Additions worked. Mouse Integration worked after putting these lines into xorg.conf

Section "InputDevice"
   Identifier "Configured Mouse"
   Driver "vboxmouse"
   Option "CorePointer"
EndSection

Mounting a shared Folder fails with the following message:

/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: No such device

'sudo modprobe vboxvfs' fails with the following message:

FATAL: Error inserting vboxvfs (/lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/updates/dkms/vboxvfs.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

The same error is also described here and here.

Since i don't know what of this is of interest, im adding the whole output of dmesg.

#2672 fixed The installation fail outside of the temporary directory on Windows Oungawak
Description

The *.msi file cannot install VirtualBox properly when the user launchs it from any of his directorys (it says "can’t read the MSI file", I can't find the old ticket about this problem). The workaround to this problem is to copy it in the temporary directory of Windows and then to launch it from here, it’s not very convenient.

I think you can make an *.exe which copy the MSI file in "%TEMP%" and run it. You can even add your logo to it. :)

This problem appeared to me on Vista SP1 x64 with the 64bit version of VirtualBox 2.0.6 and 2.0.4.
