| #9425 | obsolete | CPUID Leaf 4 not functioning on Core i7 | ||
| Description |
When using the hypervisor (VT-x) and in Long Mode, when executing a CPUID Leaf 4 operation on my CPU (Intel Core i7), with the level being 3 (L3 cache), it is returning all zeros. If I execute the same operation on bare metal, it returns the proper data. mov rax, 0x4 mov rcx, 0x3 cpuid ; rax, rbx, rcx, and rdx are all zeros. It should report the cache information for the level 3 cache. If running Linux on this, Linux reports the L3 cache as non-existent, and the L2 cache as being 6MB. Running CPUID on bare metal reports the L2 cache as 256KB, and the L3 cache as 8MB. |

| #1248 | invalid | CPUID doesn't expose "SYSENTER/SYSEXIT" in spite of supporting it | ||
| Description |
Hi, the CPUID-instruction passes through the cpu's name etc. but lacks the bit 11 (CPU_FEATURE_SEP) that indicates support for sysenter. I tried to alter a kernel that I have developed to skip the check for this particular bit and it worked. So there seems to be support for SYSENTER/SYSEXIT anyway. best, nurnware |

| #2811 | fixed | CRUX 2.5 CD-ROM fails to boot | ||
| Description |
When booting the CRUX 2.5 ISO, it stops at "Loading modules... IDE" and VirtualBox crashes. The bug occurs on Windows and Linux hosts for me. When booting the CD-ROM with "CRUX noide" it boots successfully. As a side node, the CRUX 2.5 ISO works fine with QEMU and also on real hardware. |
