#14554 fixed Files with colon ":" characters in their names cannot be used in shared folders GaryPlumbridge
Description

Note: this bug is also present in test build 5.0.3 revision 102467. This bug is not present in 5.0.0

Files with colon ":" characters in their names cannot be used in shared folders.

To reproduce:

  1. Mount a shared folder RW.
  2. In the shared folder, attempt to create a file with a colon in its name, for example:
    gary@gpubuvm:~/host$ touch "some:file"

  3. Observe result:
touch: cannot touch ‘some:file’: Protocol error

Existing files with colons in their names cannot be used but do appear in listings. For example:

gary@gpubuvm:~/host/testdir$ ls -lah

Yields:

ls: cannot access bad:file: No such file or directory
total 0
drwxrwx--- 1 root vboxsf 136 Sep 8 11:31 .
drwxrwx--- 1 root vboxsf 1.4K Sep 8 11:31 ..
-????????? ? ? ? ? ? bad:file
-rwxrwx--- 1 root vboxsf 0 Sep 8 11:31 goodfile

A trace of "ls -lah" reveals that it fails to stat "bad:file", even though it is an empty normal file on the host:

lstat("bad:file", 0xff0520) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
#9194 fixed VirtualBox core on loging after a long period of time => Fixed in SVN Gbillou
Description

When I leave my computer on a virtual terminal, then switch back to my X server a long time later (don't know exactly but something like an hour), then login (because my workstation is locked) i find my VirtualBox session stopped and its state is "aborted". All other software are still running fine.

#18046 fixed another VMMR0.r0 BSOD => fixed in svn GedPsyched
Description

I noticed it few months (year?) ago, and it's still not fixed. Regardless of Win host system all guests fails sometimes with bridged networking on Realtek 8111F, with BSOD. NAT works correctly. I also have the latest drivers for every aspect in my system (so in this case it is 10.30.815.2018, but it happened with different version of W10, and drivers). Other systems with Intel cards (e.g. I219-V) are not affected.

Every time when the guest is performing some network activity the host is crashed with STOP "driver irql not less or equal" error. (log and dump attached).
