#8181 obsolete OpenGL does not work after upgrade to 4.x Jacek
Description

After upgrade to VirtualBox 4 (Major 4, all minor versions), Sketchup stopped working. I tried to downgrade back to 3.2.12, but it did not help.
Also, other applications using OpenGL, which worked previously, stopped working after upgrade to VB4 with error messages indicating problems with OpenGL.
Downgrade to version 3.2.12 (host app and guest drivers) did not solve the problem. After upgrade of host app back to 4.0.2, leaving 3.2.12 extensions caused all applications to start properly (with a warning message from VB about disabled 3D acceleration).
2D and 3D accelerations are enabled in the VM settings, Memory size for the VM graphics card is set to 128MB (max).

#8183 obsolete "Invalid settings detected" shown for a short time in VM Settings dialog Konstantin Vlasov
Description

Host OS: WinXP x64 SP2
VirtualBox 4.0.2

When I open the Settings dialog for any of my VMs (even newly created), there is a red error message appears in this dialog (the screenshot is attached). In about 1 second this message just disappears without consequences and not shown anymore (until I close and reopen the dialog). Probably, it's just a GUI glitch (e.g. because of too late updating), but quite unnerving one, because I cannot be sure whether there is a problem or not.

#8184 obsolete Connecting USB webcam crashes VirtualBox alphazo
Description
  • Hardware: Lenovo X201, i5 based, 4GB RAM
  • Host: ArchLinux 64-bit
  • Kernel: 2.6.37
  • Guest: Windows XP SP3 + Guest Addons
  • Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension: 4.0.2r69518

I tried both the USB internal Webcam (Chicony Integrated Camera) and the USB Guillemot Corporation DualPix HD720p and they both badly crashe VirtualBox. On the other hand USB high-speed flash drives work fine.

When connecting the DualPix HD720p, the VM crashes and shows as aborted but some processes keep running:

# ps aux | grep irtual

alpha 8421 0.2 0.0 45568 3760 ? S 22:22 0:01 /usr/lib/virtualbox/VBoxXPCOMIPCD

alpha 8951 0.0 0.0 10484 1012 pts/0 S+ 22:29 0:00 grep --color=auto irtual

Log file is attached. I followed the instruction to enable the generation of a core dump but no core.{pid} file was generated.
