I have a Huawei USB serial GSM modem (model E1750), also called "Surfstick" by O2. It is a so-called flip flop USB device that acts like a mass storage device on first plug in, but after installation of the software it registers as an USB modem. This behavior seems to work fine with VirtualBox, as the software can be installed and even the USB modem will show up afterwards. Nevertheless, it won't get recognized by the shipped software ("Mobile Partner") which could indicate a general problem of VirtualBox and such devices. My guest OS is Windows XP SP3. |

Made a folder containing ISO images and then added an Alias for the folder. Copied the Alias to folder listing the VMs for access when selecting one from Storage of Settings, but was unable select the Alias. On a swag, created a symbolic link to the ISO folder and retried: the symbolic link was selectable, while the Alias was not.
