| #10133 | obsolete | Maximize client OS does not autosize guest display to fill screen | ||
| Description |
I'm running:
I have a Duel Core Hyper threaded i5 laptop I have a second monitor connected via a DVI cable to a Sceptre monitor set at a resolution of 1920 x 1200. I just created a clean VM with Windows 7 x64 Enterprise + sp1, installed the Guest additions, applied any patches found on MSFT's update site. I can change the size of the vm window to the width of the 2nd monitor and the Autosize guest display feature adjustes the guest desktop. When I try to adjust the hight I can get to about 9/10 of the hight of the screen and the display automatically adusts to a smaller size. Same thing if I try to maximize the window. This is not a problem with any of the VM's I created with earlier versions of your product. I have updated the guest additions in all of my vm's created prior to this version and they all maximize and adjust as expected. Thank you. |

| #9873 | fixed | VirtualBox 4.1.6 installer fails on Windows XP K SP3 x86 | ||
| Description |
It appears that the USB controller is causing the installation to fail. I receive an error message 2869 when trying to install an older version 4.1.0, 4.1.2. No error code is currently displayed just a message in 4.1.6. I am attempting to install on a Korean version of Windows but I do not read Korean so I can not currently provide the message. Installation completes without rollback after removing the USB component. |

| #3437 | fixed | Guest OS hangs with "Starting virtual machine" when 3D acceleration selected -> Fixed in SVN. | ||
| Description |
This problem is identical to, and in fact was mentioned in, bug report #2857. However, it appears that thread went the way of suggesting the problem was only related to host networking and was subsequently fixed. That bug (related to version 2.1.0) has been closed and marked resolved. I am currently experiencing and can reproduce this problem under 2.1.4. The host OS is Windows XP, Service Pack 2. The guest OS seems to be irrelevant. I've tried launching Unbuntu, BeOS, FreeDos and Windows vms, and they all seem to launch successfully once, but will hang again and again if 3D acceleration is turned on. Networking can be turned on or off, and it doesn't change the behavior. If I turn off 3D acceleration, however, they launch successfully time and again. I created a new vm, mounted a Windows XP iso and a new, empty vdi, and it launched successfully with 3D turned on, once, after freshly booting the host. However, subsequent launches of the new vm hang. Output of the log is attached. I can turn networking on or off and it will not launch unless I either (a) reboot the host, or (b) turn off 3D acceleration. I have not tried this using a Linux host. |
