#2446 fixed Host screen flickers when guest resolution changes -> fixed in 2.1.2. myxiplx
Description

Reported by myself and one other in the forums: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=8926&highlight=resolution+change+flicker

In Ubuntu 8.04, whenever the resolution of a guest is changed, the host screen goes blank for a second. It's acting as if VirtualBox is changing the host resolution as well.

When a virtual machine is running it's not too bad as you don't change the resolution too often, but when booting XP it's a pain. Initially both screens go blank as the VirtualBox guest starts. From that point on it's just one screen (whichever one the guest is displayed on), but it happens:

  • as VirtualBox hands over to the boot loader
  • as the windows guest switches to graphical mode
  • as the windows guest resizes the screen after loading drivers

This is occurring on my work computer (dual screens on an ATI Radeon HD 2600XT), and at home (dual screens on an ATI Radeon x1950 Pro). Sowelie who also reported this is running an ATI Radeon x1500.

I'm running Ubuntu's ATI binary drivers, as distributed with 8.04.

#2447 fixed iSCSI - VBoxManage addiscsidisk not working on 2.0.2 mores
Description

I issued the command: VBoxManage addiscsidisk -server 10.200.2.30 -target iqn.2000-12.com.acme:storage.lun0 -lun 0

and it responded with: iSCSI disk created. UUID: dae92af0-5d06-47ee-ac77-b14e67d4b780

But when I open my Virtual Disk Manager version 2.0.2 on windows I see no hard disks show up.

I downgraded to 1.6.6 and now the iSCSI disks are showing up in Virtual Disk Manager

#2448 fixed Assertion error (iNew != NIL_PGMPOOL_IDX) in pgmPoolAlloc injinius
Description

Setup:

  • openSolaris (nevada 99) host (16GB RAM, 250GB local drive)
  • virtual box version 2.0.2r36488
  • OpenSuse 11 guest OS (4GB RAM, 30GB drive allocated)

I'm trying to run some benchmarks (from iozone.org) in the guest operating system. These benchmarks appear to crash the guest OS (into an "unknon" state). The dmesg log that appears to be related to the guest OS crash looks like:

Oct 17 22:08:52 somehost vboxdrv: [ID 702911 kern.notice]
Oct 17 22:08:52 somehost !!R0-Assertion Failed!!
Oct 17 22:08:52 somehost Expression: iNew != NIL_PGMPOOL_IDX
Oct 17 22:08:52 somehost Location : /export/home/vbox/tinderbox/sol64-rel/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGMAllPool.cpp(3800) int pgmPoolAlloc(VM*, RTGCPHYS, PGMPOOLKIND, uint16_t, uint32_t, PGMPOOLPAGE**)

I didn't see anything in the bugs or discussion lists that matched.
