#13306 fixed Bridged Networking does not work in Windows 8 Julianus
Description

Downloaded Virtualbox 4.3.14 to install on Windows 8.1. After installation it points to a beta version to install.

So I installed this build https://www.virtualbox.org/download/testcase/VirtualBox-4.3.15-95599-Win.exe

After installation, VM with bridged network does not work. With NAT it does, however I do need bridged networking. I found some references for other who tried to re-install the bridged network component but none of them seem to work.

The error I get is: "Failed to open/create the internal network 'HostInterfaceNetworking-Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller' (VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND). Failed to attach the network LUN (VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND)."

Checking in Windows Device Manager the "VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter" is present, but the "VirtualBox Bridged Networking Driver Miniport" is missing.

I attached the logs from the virtual machines and installation logs.

#4151 worksforme Bridged Networking not working Roger
Description

Using VB 2.2.4 on Mac OS X with Linux guest and bridged networking selected the guests gets no network connectivity. It sometimes connects but is random and not predictable. Nt sure what is cause the networking issue. The guest system is configured as a mirror to an actual hardware system so networking on the guest is not the problem as it also works randomly.

#5390 fixed Bridged guest network stops responding after a while bruno simioni
Description

That's the bug scenario:

Host

Sun VirtualBox 3.0.10 PUEL
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server R2 SP2
(A) Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (Internal network)
(B) Intel(R) Pro/1000 PT Server Ethernet Adapter (External network)

Guest

VirtualBox Guest Addition 3.0.10 PUEL
Linux Slackware 12.2, with SMP (2 cores)
Shared Folders through vbox file system
2 Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop connected in (A) and (B), in bridged network mode. One of them have an external IP, and the another one, internal IP

Problem

Guest network adapter freezes (and get unreacheable) sometimes, preventing access via network from host, or outside the host, when running a in bridged network connection mode. However, from guest and inside it, I have external network acess, normally.

I cannot reproduce (and don't know how) this error, and the problem get solved turning guest machine off, and repairing host network connections (bridged connections), and finally, restarting guest machines.

Logs

That's maybe related to the end of the log.
