#11729 worksforme "repeat delay" resets after saved state dyname212
Description

Since some 4 versions back (2-3 months) the "repeat delay keyboard" resets to default value for any windows guest systems. This only happens when you start from a saved VM state.

The behavior is similar to when you disconnect a physical keyboard from a physical windows machine. Connecting the keyboard back RESETS the repeat delay and Repeat Rate to slow default value.

Here are steps to simulate this defect:

  1. start a winxp, win7 or win2k3 virtual machine. When the machine completes booting change the keyboard repeat rate and delay to max:
  1. Go to Control Panel-> keyboard-> repeat delay->set to max

repeat rate->set to max hit OK

  1. Check the rate, it should be pretty fast and without a delay
  1. Click the close window on Mac (red box on top left) to try to close the virtulbox window (or use command+Q)
  1. click "save the machine state"
  1. When the saving state is completed go to main virtual box window and click Machine->start

the virtual box should get to the saved state.

  1. Open a notepad and try the repeat-delay and repeat-rate you'd notice that the keyboard rate was reset to the default sloow value.

Again this started to happen 3 months back (3-4 versions back) on the mac lion host running ANY windows guest system.

#30 fixed "spawning remote session" message is inaccurate and confusing Technologov
Description

Software: Windows XP Pro SP2 Eng, no extra patches, VirtualBox 1.3.2 Full.

when starting a VM, a message dialog pops-up and types: "spawning remote session" while in fact it is a local one. The fact that technology might be client/server doesn't interests the user. It's confusing.

recommendation:

message must be renamed to "spawning session"

#11039 obsolete "unable to allocate and lock memory" error (Prio conflict) Mike
Description

I have 6GB of RAM and when I try to put the RAM at 1400MB or higher I get that error. It seems to only work if the RAM is set to 1000MB, but I need at least 2GB of RAM. I have read some of the other entries and tried their solutions, but it doesn't work. I don't have the Google Crash Handler process and I freed up the standby RAM using RAMMap. I have like 3GB of free RAM so it shouldn't be a problem.

Host OS: Windows 7 Home 64-bit

Guest OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 and 64-bit
