#1244 fixed Shared folders fails when listing root folder -> Fixed in VBox 3.x Oscar Díaz
Description

Hi. I upgraded from VBox 1.5.0 to 1.5.6, on xp host and linux 2.6.24 guest, and I got this problem:

  • I have D:\ as shared folder (name=drivec , dir=D:\) to the guest, it mounts ok but it cannot list the root directory:
root@host# mount -t vboxsf drivec /mnt
root@host# ls /mnt
ls: /mnt: No such file or directory
root@host# dmesg | tail -1
vboxvfs: sf_dir_open: directory / does not exist
root@host# ls /mnt/dirinside
fileinside.txt otherdirinside
  • This don't happen if I share a subfolder, e.g. D:\dirinside (name=dirin, dir=D:\dirinside)
root@host# mount -t vboxsf dirin /mnt
root@host# ls /mnt
fileinside.txt otherdirinside
  • This problem only shows with letter-like folders (c:\ , d:\ , etc), not with subfolders. And this was not in VBox 1.5.0

Thanks.

#1246 fixed Some HP USB scanners do not work ipna
Description

HP Scanjet G4050 and 4070 Photosmart USB scanners seem not to work with VB (Windows XP SP2 guest and Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon host on a 1 GB RAM HP Compaq dc7700, Intel Core2). Both scanners work flawlessly in a XP host on the same computer.

HP control software could be installed on the guest with no problem except by a slowdown of the installation process (took ~1 hour vs. ~10 minutes on the native Windows).

Both scanners show USB activity and are detected by the guest but the HP scanner wizard works fine until the point where the prescan should start, getting freezed several minutes and showing a communication error after. The tests were done with either USB EHCI enabled/disabled to no avail.
