| #1370 | invalid | NTFS partitions / createrawvmdk: not readable for W2K guest | ||
| Description |
Good afternoon, using the createrawvmdk command all my NTFS partitions should be accessible to my W2K guest on a Vista SP1 host, but Windows Explorer proposes to format them (for they are not readable). I created the vmdk-File according to the manual chapter 9.9: VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename "D:\Programm-Daten\VirtualBox\VDI\LG.vmdk" -rawdisk \.\PhysicalDrive1 Then I registered the file: VBoxManage registerimage disk "D:\Programm-Daten\VirtualBox\VDI\LG.vmdk" -type writethrough afterwards I assigned the file/raw disk LG.vmdk as a primary slave to my VM. listpartitions command: VBoxManage internalcommands listpartitions -rawdisk \.\PhysicalDrive1 Output: VirtualBox Command Line Management Interface Version 1.5.6 (C) 2005-2008 innotek GmbH All rights reserved. Number Type StartCHS EndCHS Size (MiB) Start (Sect) 1 0x27 0 /32 /33 130 /170/40 1024 2048 2 0x07 130 /171/1 1023/254/63 30728 2099223 5 0x07 1023/1 /2 1023/254/63 102437 65031184 6 0x07 1023/1 /1 1023/254/63 5122 274824018 4 0x07 1023/0 /1 1023/254/63 13311 285314400 Type 0x07 is NTFS-formatted. Though I understand that this command is intended for unique use of the partitions by the guest, I do not understand that they are not readable for the guest. Did I miss some driver installation or something? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

| #1371 | fixed | bridged networking very sluggish | ||
| Description |
Hi, I am running VirtualBox 1.5.6 on Ubuntu Gutsy with a Windows SP2 Guest. The Guest's Network Interface (Adapter Type pcnet-Fast III) is attached to the hosts tap1 interface which is attached to a bridge. The network runs very sluggish - this is not the case when i attach the same tap-device to a linux guest in virtualbox. Regards, Karsten |

| #1372 | worksforme | Ubuntu Gutsy guest on windows XP host has no mouse after capture | ||
| Description |
VBox ver.: 1.5.6, Host: Windows XP, Guest Ubuntu Gutsy, with or without guest editions installed, does not show mouse cursor after mouse capture. This issue was noticed ever since VBox 1.5.2 or even earlier. I have tried fresh VM's including fresh Ubuntu install. Keyboard capture is fine. Although extremely difficult to do, it is possible to use mouse to click in guest OS however it is impossible to see where the mouse is at any given point in time. Restartin X or using the host key to cancel capture and then recapture does not change anything. Prior to this problem appearing, VirtualBox ran fine on the same machine and host OS installation. Only after an upgrade of VirtualBox did this problem manifest. I have uninstalled and reinstalled VirtualBox with no change. |
