#6843 duplicate Boot from USB device Laurence Perkins
Description

Since it is possible to attach USB devices to the guest in "pass through" mode, it would be quite useful (to me at least) to be able to boot the guest from such a device. It would allow for easy creation/testing of bootable USB devices for a variety of purposes. Currently, in order to do this kind of thing, I have to use the raw disk option, which doesn't always seem compatible with reformatting the disk, and makes it so that the guest OS doesn't realise that it's on a thumb drive, so any optimisations it may have for such circumstances are lost.

#5480 duplicate Boot from Virtual USB devices Kanaida
Description

This would come in handly A LOT when making multi-os bootable usb sticks with things like grub. Not to mention I don't think this is implemented in any other virtualization program either.

#19065 invalid Boot record loss on exporting a DragonflyBSD virtual machine in open virtualization format 1.0 file JasonBond
Description

Steps to repeat the problem:

  1. Create a DragonflyBSD 5.6.2 virtual machine and select Hammer2 as file system.
  2. Export this virtual machine as a open virtualization format 1.0 file, say it named 'dflybsd.ova'.
  3. Import 'dflybsd.ova' to another virtualbox host.
  4. Start the imported virtual machine in the new host, DragonflyBSD will report boot record loss.

Remark: If I copy all files of the virtual machine to another host, it can run normally. It seems that virtual machine exporting function mess up something for DragonflyBSD Unix.
