#6152 obsolete Pauses on Ubuntu 64 host (SetSystemTimeAdjustment => ERROR_PRIVILEGE_NOT_HELD?) Charlie
Description

Hi

I have been using VirtualBox for a few years now on an Ubuntu host with an XP guest OS. Recently, I installed a Vista (Home Premium 32) guest, but have run into a problem.

Approximately every 10 seconds, I see a pause for about 2 sec. This seems to affect the whole guest OS- mouse animations, video pauses etc. I have installed guest additions, but I saw this problem before doing that- and before installation, the pause would even affect mouse cursor movement.

I then rebooted into the XP VM, and see that the effect is present there, too. It does seem to be a bit less pronounced there, though.

I've attached a screenshot with my settings. I have had a good old fiddle with them, to no good effect. Also attached is a log from the Vista VM.

I can't find much about pauses from googling or searching this site, but apologies if I've missed something. If there's any more information I need to include, please let me know, I'll be happy to do so.

Cheers Charlie

#13414 obsolete USB issues since 4.3.14 Forage
Description

Ever since vbox 4.3.14 I've got issues with, what I think is caused by, my USB device. Vbox 4.3.16 didn't make a difference. In both cases I updated the extension pack and guest additions. Both versions forced me to revert to 4.3.12.

Host OS: Ubuntu 14.04 (x64) Guest OS: Windows 8 (x64) Device: Jabra Link 350 USB dongle

Behaviour using this device differs. Sometimes only Lync hangs when I receive a call; when I do manage to call sound it distorded (audio slowed down and choppy); sometimes vbox completely hangs when receiving or trying to call. The only way to get Lync running again is force quitting the application; the only way to get vbox running again is force closing it and restarting.

What can be the cause of the problem? Let me know if you need any more information.

#12043 invalid XF86DRIGetClientDriverName crashes when running glxinfo, glgears etc -> operating system issue Forest
Description

I am running Virtual Box 4.2.16 along with the VBox additions 4.2.16 in a Windows 7.0 host. I am running a CentOS 6.4 VM. Mostly everything is working correctly. However, glxinfo segfaults on a call to XF86DRIGetClientDriverName with the following stack trace (optimized libGL):

0x0000003225289831 in memcpy () from /lib64/libc.so.6
1 0x0000003229242417 in _XRead () from /usr/lib64/libX11.so.6
2 0x0000003229242509 in _XReadPad () from /usr/lib64/libX11.so.6
3 0x0000003c72048921 in XF86DRIGetClientDriverName () from /usr/lib64/libGL.so.1
4 0x0000003c72046a97 in ?? () from /usr/lib64/libGL.so.1

11 0x000000322521ecdd in libc_start_main () from /lib64/libc.so.6

I ran into the problem with running paraview but found running glxinfo dies in the same place.

My xorg.conf file is this:

# VirtualBox generated configuration file # based on /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "VirtualBox Virtual Output" VendorName "Oracle Corporation" EndSection

Section "Device" BoardName "VirtualBox Graphics" Driver "vboxvideo" Identifier "Device[0]" VendorName "Oracle Corporation" EndSection

Section "Screen" SubSection "Display" Depth 24 EndSubSection Device "Device[0]" Identifier "Screen[0]" Monitor "Monitor[0]" EndSection

I tried disabling the 3D acceleration but this did not solve the problem.

I was able to get around the problem by changing the graphics driver to vesa, but that doesn't behave very well in terms of interacting with the windows host using VBoxAdditions.

I searched the bug DB and did find a reference to a bug reported 4 years ago with a crash in vboxstub_glXMakeCurrent in the VirtualBox 3.1.2 version:

https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/4674

I have attached all of the VBox log files as a tar archive.
