| #2229 | fixed | Cant allocate the full 3.5GB to a virtual Machine | ||
| Description |
I'm runnung an AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition with 8GB of memory. My host OS is kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) 32-bit with the server kernel so I have access to all 8GB memory. If I set a virtual machine to use 3.5GB of memory as it now allows as its maximum, when I boot into the VM it produces an error saying it is unable to allocate enough memory as the host is running low on resources and it pauses the VM. Doing a quick check using top shows I still have plenty of free memory. |

| #2230 | fixed | Feature Request: Virtual USB Hard Disk Support | ||
| Description |
Please add support for virtual USB hard disk drive images. Imagine this. If your guest operating system is Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista and if you have enabled USB support, in the Settings section, there would be a option to either mount a virtual hard disk image and use it as a emulated USB port or use one of the existing physical USB devices and go from there. This feature would be perfect if you're planning on running multiple guest operating systems and that you want to share some files between one and the other, but don't want to set up a network drive to share folders with or shutdown the guest operating system upon transfering files. USB virtual hard disk drives would also be used as a backup disk too. :D You see, QEMU is the only PC emulator to use virtual hard disk drives as a emulated USB device. For more information about this feature, please see this thread: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=9537 |

| #2231 | fixed | WinXP x64 Start Menu Freezes | ||
| Description |
Host: Kubuntu Hardy, Kernel: 2.6.24-19, Processor: AMD Opteron 1222, Motherboard: Tyan S2925 (Tomcat n3400B), Physical Memory: 4GB, Video Memory: 512MB, Virtualbox: xVM 2.0.2-36488_Ubuntu_hardy, Guest: Windows XP Professional x64, Base Memory: 1024MB, Video Memory: 64MB, ACPI: Enabled, IO APIC: Enabled, VT-x/AMD-v: Enabled, When I click on the Start Menu it displays under intensified and all Start Menu functions are froze for a couple minutes. When it finally displays properly and I choose a sub menu it does the same thing with the sub menu. After I use the Start Menu once it freezes up totally until I reboot. Everything else on the desktop works fine (i.e My Computer, My Documents). Yesterday when I first installed VirtualBox the mouse was jerky when selecting Start Menu items. After installing Service Pack 2 the menu started freezing. Today I completely removed Virtualbox (partitions, everything) and performed a fresh install. The same problem still exists. I believe the problem might have something to do with the guest additions because I was able to access the start menu before I installed the guest additions. After I installed the guest additions it showed up. As soon as I opened a sub menu (i.e. Control Panel) the start menu becomes under intensified and freezes. |
