| #1279 | duplicate | Comodo Firewall Pro freezes in WinXP (under Linux hosts?) shortly after boot | ||
| Description |
Comodo Firewall Pro: free download from http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ I've observed this symptom on WinXP SP2 guests under both 2.6.22 and 2.6.23 kernels. Comodo installs fine, but becomes completely unresponsive shortly after rebooting. Networking may or may not still work in the guest, and the firewall doesn't produce pop-up messages like it's supposed to. Tested under both OSE and binary versions. |

| #1280 | fixed | WinXP fails to install with "Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)" on Linux 2.6.22 hosts. | ||
| Description |
While installing WinXP SP2, the installation fails after the first reboot with the error "Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)". This has happened on two completely separate machines; one running Gentoo and the other running Ubuntu. In both cases, the host is running a 2.6.22 series kernel. The problem disappeared on the Gentoo machine after upgrading to a 2.6.23 series kernel. I have found a workaround; setting "Enable Passthrough" on the CD-ROM device in the guest makes the error go away. I have no idea why. |

| #1281 | duplicate | No serial port on Windows 2000 guest machine | ||
| Description |
I am using the latest version (1.5.6) of Vbox on Ubuntu. I have Win 2000 guest virtual machine. I have enabled one serial port (COM1) - port mode is Host device, port path is /dev/ttyS0. However, in Win2000 I can't see any COM port. I got an error at shutdown: Ioctl failed for serial host device '/dev/ttyS0' (VERR_INVALID_POINTER). The device will not work properly. Error ID: DrvHostSerialFail Severity: Warning In VBox.log there are several lines with this: 00:05:36.795 ERROR [COM]: aRC=0x80070005 aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={The console is not powered up} aPreserve=false 00:05:36.805 ERROR [COM]: aRC=0x80070005 aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={The console is not powered up} aPreserve=false 00:05:36.815 ERROR [COM]: aRC=0x80070005 aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={The console is not powered up} aPreserve=false 00:05:36.825 ERROR [COM]: aRC=0x80070005 aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={The console is not powered up} aPreserve=false 00:05:36.836 ERROR [COM]: aRC=0x80070005 aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={The console is not powered up} aPreserve=false 00:05:36.846 ERROR [COM]: aRC=0x80070005 aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={The console is not powered up} aPreserve=false 00:05:36.856 ERROR [COM]: aRC=0x80070005 aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={The console is not powered up} aPreserve=false And machine does not shut down normally, but it is aborted.
