| #1112 | fixed | Bridge Networking is too difficult to implement | ||
| Description |
Hi All, First off, I do not need help with bridge networking: I figured it out. It took me six months, but I figured it out. Which brings me to the problem: “Bridge Networking” is too difficult to implement. The “Developers” need to come up with a method of implementing Bridge Networking that is no more difficult to implement than any of the other networking options. VM Ware can do it. Buggy, miserable Parallels for Linux can do it. There is no reason why it can not be done in Virtual Box. Other than that, Virtual Box is a fantastic piece of code! Many thanks, -T |

| #1113 | fixed | keyboard problems when installing Windows XP as a Guest on an Ubuntu Gutsy Host | ||
| Description |
When trying to install Windows XP as a Guest on an Ubuntu Gutsy host, the following problem happens: 1) First part of installation (text mode) starts fine 2) Then windows reboots and enters in second part of installation (graphics mode) 3) If you run this session with mouse and keyboard grabbed... 4) You will soon realize that the keyboard is grabbed but does not pass any key to the guest os 5) For instance at a certain point the installer asks your name and organization and you cannot type them 6) At this point also the host key to ungrab keyboard and mouse will not work. So it is not possible to install Windows XP as a guest os. |

| #1114 | obsolete | USB problems with windows XP as a host | ||
| Description |
Trying to use Windows XP as a host on a linux Ubuntu Gutsy guest Everything seems to work, but USB does not. I am trying to use an usb smart card reader (SCR 335-S). 1) Using the USB devices menu, I attach this device to the guest os 2) The guest OS sees it, but gives an error and says it cannot recognize it if I disable USB2 things get slightly better 1) Using the USB devices menu, I attach this device to the guest os 2) The guest OS sees it, and recognizes it as an SCR 335-S, proposes drivers installation 3) When I get to this point I cannot install the drivers as the system says that none will fit (in spite of the fact that I am proposing drivers that work perfectly with native windows or windows in vmware player). |
