| #1109 | fixed | Critical error during installation of Windows XP on debian etch host | ||
| Description |
As posted earlier on forums (http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?p=14076), the installation of Windows XP hangs and shortly after that gives critical error. The point when this happens is immediately after choosing the partition to install XP into. I can move the selection, but after I choose, it hangs up. The host is Debian Etch, and apt-get fails to find updates. This error happened both with the version available from apt-get, and also on version compiled from source-code. |

The install fails right at the very end and when you reboot you get a BSOD error 0E 015F:Bff9dBA7 and a google search i find this fix for timing of the dblbuff.sys http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=209321 I do not have guest additions installed, I never reached a stable point to where I could. I have install logs but dont know how to attach them here. |

| #1111 | duplicate | Windows XP x64 host crashes when using USB in VirtualBox with XP x86 Guest | ||
| Description |
I set up a filter for a USB to IEEE1284-cable. When I connect this cable the host detects a "VirtualBox USB" device. The guest detects the cable. A few seconds later the Host freezes. At first only the mouse pointer can be moved but the mouse buttons and the keyboard show no reaction. Some seconds later the mouse pointer freezes also. The input focus was not on the VirtualBox. The same happens when I connect another USB device (e.g. a second mouse) and let VirtualBox use it. I have already disabled EHCI in the VirtualBox setup. In the beginning I sometimes got a blue screen on the host, but currently I cannot reproduce this and I don't remember the error message. |
