| #8475 | fixed | nictrace and nictracefile troubles | ||
| Description |
The options nictrace and nictracefile to 'VBoxManage controlvm' do not work as expected. Specifying another dump file name seems to have no effect. Also, it seems that dump file creation is not working reliably as sometimes no file is created even if traffic is sent and received over the corresponding interface. Further, the pcap file written is not correctly formatted. It always starts with an ethernet frame that was never sent and has all values set to zero. It also does not write proper time stamps, i.e. time stamps are relative to the start of the capture while they should contain absolute time values. Attached is a pcap file produced with 'VBoxManage controlvm 'tmp' nictrace1 on nictracefile1 /tmp/test.pcap'. I cannot attach a Vbox.log file as none has been written. |
