| #2059 | fixed | Guest Addition installation on w2k - VBoxService.exe error opening file for writing | ||
| Description |
Just upgraded from VirtualBox 1.6.4 to 1.6.6 on OpenSuSE 10.3 using the RPM's from website. Upgrade went fine until installed guest additions (guest is windows 2000). Installer threw this error: "Error opening file for writing: C:\WINNT\system32\VBoxService.exe" Abort / Retry / Ignore Clicked Retry a couple times, no change - Clicked Ignore, install finished, rebooted, tried installing again, same error. So far this doesn't seem to have caused any issues that I know of though. Let me know if additional information (logs / specs / etc) needed. |

| #2696 | fixed | Voyage Linux iso boot failure -> fixed in SVN/3.0.2 | ||
| Description |
I have been trying to install Voyage Linux (http://linux.voyage.hk/) in a virtual machine from a live cd iso. The boot process gets as far as "Checking 'hlt' instruction... OK", and then I get the "VirtualBox has encountered a problem and needs to close." dialog. I have Virtualbox running on XP Pro SP3, with an Ubuntu virtual machine working fine. I have used this Voyage Linux iso in Vmware Server with no trouble, but they don't support the nice shared folder ability like Virtualbox. The error report contains a text file, which I will try to attach. Thanks much for looking into this, and thanks very much for Virtualbox! Kurt |
