| #7440 | obsolete | Vbox always captures webcam | ||
| Description |
Running Vbox 3.2.8. The host is Windows Vista. Guest is Ubuntu 10.4 The laptop has a built-in webcam. When looking at USB devices under Machine when the guest is running, the webcam is NOT checked, but DOES show as captured when hovering the mouse over its listing. The host cannot use the cam at that point, saying an application is using it. I shut down the guest, went into Settings->USB, and there are no filters defined. I created a filter for the webcam (selecting it from listed device) and unchecked the filter. I started the guest, and the webcam was captured. It seems the only way to NOT capture the webcam is to uncheck USB entirely in Settings. |
