| #2011 | fixed | Poor SATA driver performance with Linux Host, Windows Guest. | ||
| Description |
Host: Linux I've done some fairly extensive testing, and it appears there is no performance advantage from using an emulated SATA controller over an IDE one, when using the above configuration.
The reason for the existence of the SATA controller emulation is (I assume) to have a high-performance storage option rather than for compatibility reasons, so I assume it's intended there should be a performance improvement when switching to emulated SATA. |

| #2012 | fixed | Snapshots functionality - confusing UI, no documentation | ||
| Description |
The items in the shortcut menu for the snapshots and current state on the tab "Snapshots" are confusing, and not documented. Specifically: if I have 3 snapshots, and I right-click on snapshot 2, it's not clear what "discard snapshot" means: will the vm revert to snapshot 1 or will it be merged to snapshot 3? If I right-click on "current state", the items in shortcut menu are expected to pertain to the items that is clicked, that is, to the current state. Why are there items pertaining to the snapshot? Or, what is the difference between "discard current snapshot" and "discard current snapshot and state" - it's not documented, and one can only guess what that means and what's the difference and consequences of each. It would be much more straightforward if the context menu had the following minimally necessary items: Current State
Snapshot
With or without this change, it would be nice to have detailed descriptions of the actions in the documentation, with examples. |

| #2013 | fixed | Second virtual monitor not working | ||
| Description |
Host : Vista Ultimate SP1 Guest : XP SP3 VirtualBox: 1.6.4 VRDP Port : 6666 Monitors : 2 -VBoxManage modifyvm VMNAME -vrdpmulticon on
RDP Client: Vista RDP client Desktop : Extended to 2nd monitor Monitor 1 : @1\username (OK) Monitor 2 : @2\username (NOK) I get a black screen (RDP client window) when connecting to screen 2. If I right click in the RDP client window I see a context menu in the primary screen suggesting that it mirrors rather than extends the primary screen. Best regards, Nieko Punt. |
