| #1056 | fixed | Enabling EHCI results in XP client lock-up | ||
| Description |
Enabling USB 2.0 EHCI controller causes Win XP to lock up attempting to install the controller device. XP's hardware wizard starts, then XP stops responding. Cursor movement works, but nothing else. XP will subsequently come up normally if you force the VM down and disable the EHCI controller. Host system is AMD 64 smp 2.6.22-14-server with Ubuntu Desktop installed and Compiz enabled. H/W is 2 x Opteron dual-core cpus, 8GB ram, 3TB s/w raid array, nVidia GeForce 7300 SE with Envy-installed driver. Client is Win XP Professional SP2 with all MS patches installed and with 1.5.4 Guest Additions installed, ACPI disabled, APIC disabled. Virtual Box is 1.5.4 Ubuntu Gutsy amd64, upgraded from 1.5.2 via Synaptic, after adding the appropriate source and signature. |

| #1057 | duplicate | Screen corruption with Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy AMD64 host + Compiz + WinXP Pro Client | ||
| Description |
Minimizing, then restoring a running Win XP client window results in screen corruption - "hash" or total darkness on the screen. Pieces of the screen come back if/as they are referenced. The screen image can be restored completely by forcing Win XP to set its screen resolution, either by resizing the client window or by changing Display Properties Settings in the client. Terminal server (RDPv5) access is unaffected. Screen shots attached. Host system is AMD 64 smp 2.6.22-14-server with Ubuntu Desktop installed and Compiz enabled. H/W is 2 x Opteron dual-core cpus, 8GB ram, 3TB s/w raid array, nVidia GeForce 7300 SE with Envy-installed driver. Client is Win XP Professional with all MS patches installed and with 1.5.4 Guest Additions installed, ACPI disabled, APIC disabled, memory 768MB and also occurs with memory 1024MB. Video memory doesn't seem to make any difference either - occurs with 8MB and with 128MB. Virtual Box is 1.5.4 Ubuntu Gutsy amd64, upgraded from 1.5.2 via Synaptic, after adding the appropriate source and signature. |
