| #7228 | obsolete | networking not functioning because of open dialog box about missing volumes......... | ||
| Description |
The networking is not functioning because of an open dialog box about missing volumes (that happened to be on a usb stick....) this occurred on a linux host 2.6.27 kernel, opensuse x86_64 after closing the dialog box, networking was activated. In my case, there is a few seconds between the gui being available and working and the dialog box, in which time you can start a guest. The few seconds are caused by a auto-power off USB hard-disk that needs to spin up..... I think the solution would be to disallow interaction until the startup check has finished..... rg |

| #7229 | obsolete | VBox conflict with AWB Mobile WiMAX USB Adapter | ||
| Description |
Now I am using WiMAX connection with the AWB(Accton Wireless Broadband Corp., from Taiwan, China) US211 Mobile WiMAX USB Adapter and it works well before I install VBox. During Installation of VBox, sometimes it goes to Blue Screen at the last stage, sometimes it is ok. And I tried by using both 3.2.0 and 3.2.6, but I had the same results. If I start VBox first then my WiMAX connection can not be started and in the Device Manager I found WiMAX Bus Driver reported error with yellow "Exclaimation" and the details was: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)". If I start my WiMAX connection first and then VBox GUI can not be shown properly but I can see the processes of both VBoxSVC.exe and VirtualBox.exe running without GUI. When I quit the WiMAX connection then it can be shown. My OS information:

| #7230 | obsolete | Cannot connect Harmony 700 remote control via USB | ||
| Description |
I am using VirtualBox version 3.2.6 (r63112) on Ubuntu 10.04. My guest OS is Windows XP SP3. I am trying to get the guest OS to see the Harmony remote control. When I plug it in I can see an entry for it under the "Devices=>USB Devices" menu as "Harmony Remote 0-2.5.0 [1066]" but when I select that I get an error dialog box saying: Failed to attach the USB device Harmony Remote 0-2.5.0 [1066] to the virtual machine Win-XP. Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_READ_ERROR). The relevant line from the VBox log is this: 00:03:40.227 ERROR [COM]: aRC=NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) aIID={6375231a-c17c-464b-92cb-ae9e128d71c3} aComponent={Console} aText={Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_READ_ERROR)} aWarning=false, preserve=false I would add that this is not a problem with USB in general as I can successfully access a Patriot USB memory stick. I only get this error with the Harmony remote control device. -- Glenn |
