#4494 obsolete MS Office 2007 instances hangs after using shared folder on MacOsX (Guest: XP) unggnu
Description

Host: MacOsX Guest: Windows XP SP3 32Bit

If I open a file or save in the shared folder it takes much longer which is no real problem but this Office instance does hangs after closing it. It isn't shown in the task bar but it is still running and prevents XP from shutting down and saving this file again afterwards. So every time a new file name have to be used. Copying and installing does work fine from the shared folder. It seems to be a combination of MS Office 2007 with the MacOsX shared folder. It happens with Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

This doesn't happen on my Ubuntu host so I guess it is a Apple issue.

#7934 fixed Virtualbox Guest sessions are very sluggish and not useable after a host standby unggnu
Description

After initiating a host standby Virtualbox guests are really sluggish and seem to hang after some time. This happens even if the standby was initiated before using Vbox and independent if Windows XP or Linux is the guest os. For example it is not possible to start Windows XP - at least in a normal time frame - or to continue working with a saved vm session.

I have had the same problem with Virtualbox 3.x and 4.0 and on two different systems, one running Ubuntu 10.10 and one OpenSUSE 11.3. The environment was always x86_64.

The only way to fix this and get or vms usable again is to restart your system so I suppose it is a bug in the VBox kernel module.

I can attach some log files but it should be reproducible on any Linux system.

#8592 fixed SATA DVD drive produces corruptions and crashes => fixed in svn unggnu
Description

If I try to install openSUSE with the virtual SATA dvd drive the installation hangs after a short time. When I install the system with rpm packages instead of a direct copy I directly get md5 checksum errors.

This problem doesn't appear if I use the virtual IDE drive so it looks like the DVD Sata implementation is broken.

I am using Virtualbox 4.0.4 on openSUSE 11.4 64 Bit.
