#6996 obsolete brigded network stops when virtual host changes mac address JJ
Description

Problem:

When i change the mac address in the running guest system, there is no more network connectivitiy for the guest.

Problem exists in Version3.2.4 (VirtualBox-3.2-3.2.4_62467_fedora12-1.x86_64)
Problem did not exist in Version3.1.8 (VirtualBox-3.1-3.1.8_61349_fedora12-1.x86_64)

I can change the MAC adress in my guest:

  ifconfig eth0 down
  ifconfig eth0 hw ether <new mac address>
  ifconfig eth0 up

Workaround:

  ifconfig eth0 promisc

Setting the interface into promiscous mode re-establishes network connectivity.

#7003 obsolete 3.2.4 - Mouse click in guest window disablse mouse 2aspirin
Description

Whenever I click inside the guest window, the mouse freezes and only the Host key releases it but then it is in host mode. Background: I upgraded from 3.1.6 to 3.2.4 on an installation with Win x64 host/Win XP 32 guests. I created a new Win XP 32 guest, installed Guest Additions 3.2.4 and everything seemed to be OK until I powered down the guest and started it up again. Then the guest became unusable with no mouse functionality. I uninstalled Guest Additions (via keyboard) - no improvement. Reinstalled GA - same. I then reinstalled VB 3.1.6 and GA 3.0.x - the guest is still unusable.

Thanks, my mouse was a USB trackball with PS/2 adapter. I changed it to USB connection, no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled GA in PS/2 and USB connected mode, no luck. There are no USB filters no absolute pointing device is not checked.

A few other things I tried and did not work:

  • Created a new guest and attached the virtual HD
  • Exported the guest as an appliance and imported it back into 3.2.4
  • Imported the guest into VB 3.1.6
  • Created a guest in VB 3.1.6 and attached the virtual HD created in 3.2.4

Below is VBoxManage output and I attached the VBox Guest.log

Thank you.

#7007 obsolete Win 2k Guest crashes every few days - VB guest console shows -Abort- wayne
Description

My Win2k guest system started crashing with VB 3.2.2. This happens every 4 to 5 days. I've looked in the log and I see nothing that would indicate the system is having problems. My host system is Ubuntu 9.10. I recently switched my host system from Windows to Ubuntu. This may have started then... it's just that as soon as I switch to my Ubuntu host I also upgraded to 3.2.2.

Please let me know if there are logs that I should be watching or if I can send you any additional information
