| #12617 | fixed | Windows 8.1 black screen usually after mounting an ISO through VirtualBox | ||
| Description |
Seconds after giving VirtualBox an ISO to mount into the Windows 8.1 guest and the "Tap here to say what to do with this CD" message comes up, the screen goes black and won't recover. The guest doesn't crash - it still seems to be somewhat responsive to mouse movements (as the cursor sometimes changes - Aero cursors) and the sounds still play when switching VirtualBox in and out of full-screen mode (it makes the "device unplugged" sound like normal), but the screen is black and it doesn't seem to respond to mouse clicks and I cannot get it to come back without resetting the guest. If the machine is rebooted with the iso still mounted, there's no problem. It is not a problem with the UAC, as the UAC works fine in other situations. Incidently, the ACPI shutdown command never works. This is on a System76 Gazelle running Ubuntu. I'd add a Vbox.log as this ticket page suggests, but it doesn't have instructions on how to do that. |
