| #3884 | wontfix | Possible to make use of RAM above 4GB with 64-bit guest on 32-bit host? | ||
| Description |
For hosts with at least 4GB RAM which are running a 32-bit host OS, typically only 3.25 or 3.5GB of RAM is usable by the host OS (the remainder appearing above the 4GB mark, though I guess that depends on the host chipset). Is it possible to enable VirtualBox 64-bit guests to use that extra RAM? That could allow, for example, a 512MB guest to be used without any impact on host memory usage. |
