#13388 obsolete provided vbox gui icons are too small, ugly upscaled Jaki143
Description

The icons for the virtualbox gui seem to be compiled in and have a fixed size? My "small icons" are set to size 32 (KDE SC) because smaller is too small for me. Now the virtualbox icons do appear in size 32 but they are ugly upscaled and blurry. I looked into the source and in src/VBox/Frontends/VirtualBox/images/ I found that most of the gui icons are only size 16 - which explains the blurry pixelated look in size 32. Only the help icon is used from the current icon theme and therefore looks good and "in place".

Can you please provide all icons in size 32 too? Or use SVG?

Even better would it be if the icons were taken from the icon theme the desktop environment is using (the look of the current set used for virtualbox is very childish IMHO) or if the user could use own icons by inserting icons with the appropriate name in his/her used icon theme. By now inserting correctly named icons into the current theme doesn't have any effect: I put an icon named exit_16px.svg in my icon theme's actions folder as a replacement for the built in exit_16px.png - but alas icon in virtualbox did not change.

But in the main the icons should be well recognizable which by now is not the case.

#6540 duplicate provided DHCP information wrong after update of network config on host during runtime Sandro Steger
Description

The nameservers provided through the DHCP-Server of VirtualBox don't update if the host DNS configuration changes during runtime of the guest.

In other words: On startup the guest gets the current nameservers as expected. Now the nameservers on the host change (after startup of the guest). If I attempt to update the nameservers using dhclient it will receive the old nameservers.

Such changes on the host might occur when a VPN connection is established, to name one example.

The closure and reopening of the guest refreshes the data. Rebooting doesn't suffice.

#14902 worksforme provide your own login/password authentication thxOracle
Description

Currently the only reliable and not system dependent authorization for VRDP is none, which is unfortunate. So please instead of relying on some operating system features provide your own authentication. Namely, let the user set in Preferences for given VM, a login and a password, which then will be used by a remote machine when connecting to Virtual Box.
