#158 fixed Ubuntu Guest Additions Xorg Drivers maztaim
Description

After running through the install successfully for Guest additions on Ubuntu, When starting xorg I get the following:

(EE) Failed to load module "vboxvideo" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "vboxmouse" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.

So I thought, must be the xorg.conf.

Section "Input Device"
     ...
     Driver "vboxvideo"
     ...
EndSection

Section "Device"
     ...
     Driver "vboxvideo"
     ...
EndSection

Well. It works if I revert just those two offending lines. So I wonder about the drivers themselves.

So I did a little more digging:

find /usr/lib/xorg -ls | grep vbox
354511 32 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 30832 Mar 3 02:29 /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/vboxmouse_drv.o
354273 24 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 23092 Mar 3 02:29 /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/vboxvideo_drv.o

Sadly, I don't know much else other than it APPEARS alright. As far as I can tell, all looks as it should for an Ubuntu install...

#162 fixed Fedora Core 6 wont start properly in VBox (running on Mandriva 2007) k776
Description

I'm running Mandriva 2007, and install Virtualbox. Windows XP worked perfectly (except for resolutions), but when I downloaded a 3.3gig file for Fedora Core 6, install went perfectly, but on start up, I never reach the desktop. Its very sad, since 3.3gigs is about 80% of my monthly broadband limit and it doesn't work. Any chance for a patch to make it work?

#163 fixed After recompiling kernel - USB unstable on Host openSUSE/Guest W2K pablo
Description

Hi,

I recompiled my stock openSUSE 10.2 kernel (2.6.18.2-34-default) with CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y set. Before I recompiled I also installed 'kernel-syms'

After recompilation and reboot, I replaced my USB line in /etc/fstab as follows:

/dev/bus/usb /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults,devmode=666 0 0

I re-installed VirtualBox and USB options appeared on my 'Settings' page. I set them however if I play any videos on my guest W2K O/S while USB is activated, the VM locks. It consumes 100% of user and is unresponsive.

I believe this change needs to be rolled in to VirtualBox in order for me to not setup a security risk (_FS) and possibly to get video and USB to peacefully co-exist on the guest O/S:

Cheers, -pablo
