| #6516 | obsolete | Windows 7/64bit host can't read a bootable Ubuntu CD/DVD | ||
| Description |
I am running Windows 7/64bit Desktop. I have installed VirtualBox 3.1.6 r59338. I created a new Ubuntu virtual machine successfully, placed a bootable Ubuntu CD/DVD in the drive, and attempted to start the VM. Startup failed as it reported that it was unable to access the CD/DVD for read-only access. I have tried this as both a regular local admin on the machine as well as a domain admin. I also tried mounting an .iso image so that it appeared as a regular CD/DVD drive. I was able to successfully move a VM from another machine to the Windows 7 one, hacked the XML, and have a running VM on the windows 7 machine so it's nothing to do w/ the VM itself. I have attached the machine logs as well as the virtual box logs. -Dwight Lillie dlillie@… |

| #6517 | obsolete | USB RC_Joystick Dongle with vendor ID 0000 is not recorgnized | ||
| Description |
The RC-Joystick Dongle is not Recognized. freenode channel vbox-dev gues say it#s because it has vendor ID 0000. Which makes it not appear in usb-device list. The Dongle works in Windows XP out of the box. It is from a small German RC-Modellairplane Vendor. And probably not quite as "standaft" as it sould be. But I still would like to use it like I have used it before in XP. I am on a Gentoo host and have a XP guest. here some lsusb -v and VBoxManage output. |

| #6521 | obsolete | Intentional Triple Fault causes guru meditation | ||
| Description |
I am working on a toy kernel which I test in VirtualBox. If that matters, I use GRUB to boot the kernel. To initiate a reboot, I cause a triple fault with the following code: mov eax, 0 lidt [eax] int 1 When I run this code natively, the machine reboots, as intended. In Virtualbox, the VM crashes with a "Guru Meditation" error message. |
