#20621 fixed Hyper-V doesn't work on AMD Ryzen 3800x for old VM vbicf
Description

Hi,

I have some old Windows 10 VM (VT-X) that was created when Hyper-V was not enabled in the host. After I enable Hyper-V, that old VM will not start and it will get a bluescreen. Is there a way to fix that old VM machine so that it will start with Hyper-V enabled in the host. I changed the settings in VirtualBox to use Hyper-V Paravirtualization but the blue screen happens again. See here:

If I create a VM from scratch with Hyper-V enabled in the host, the VM will boot fine.

This means something in the old VM is causing the crash. I don't want to reinstall it from scratch.

System: Ryzen 3800X

The version of VirtualBox: 6.1.26

Host: Windows 10 21H1, Guest: Windows 10 20H2

When the VM was created: VT-x/AMD-V enabled, HyperV disabled

installed Guest Additions and Host Extensions

I have another system Intel 7700k, on that system with the same VM I can start that old VM when Hyper-V is enabled!

This looks like and AMD specific issue.

I am attaching the log from my amd system when I get the blue screen.

#600 invalid Host Desktop Mouse Madness vbgunz
Description

I didn't want to make an account on the forums and I can't really confirm if this problem is due to VirtualBox as VirtualBox isn't involved directly so heres my reasoning as to why I am here.

I've had a problem when dragging a file across my desktop. the pointer would pulsate from a hand ready to drop the file to an X (can't drop here). So, very quickly, when dragging a file, I see a pulsating hand/X (drop, can't drop) and it was driving me mad. because if I happened to drop the file at the millisecond in which I shouldn't have dropped it, it returns to its original position. It was like a very cruel joke.

I experienced this problem every day for too long. the reason, I think this is due to VirtualBox is because, I decided to live without it for a week (no working on Windows) and not once have I experienced the problem at all. I have absolutely everything else running exactly the same, except the past week, no VirtualBox.

I love VirtualBox but I really cannot say for sure if its the cause of my mouse madness. Any experiences in this regard?

#3312 fixed No Audio/Sound in Windows Server 2008 Guest on GNU/Linux Host vbgunz
Description

In regards to VirtualBox 2.1.2. Audio works in Windows XP as a guest on Kubuntu 9.04. It uses PulseAudio/ICH AC97 without a problem. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for a Windows Server 2008 installation.

I've enabled audio in WS08 *but* still see "No Audio Device Output is Installed" after logon. Checking sounds in Playback/Recording say "No Audio Devices Are Installed". I checked device manager and it just cannot seem to find an audio driver.

Is a driver included and not correctly installed? Sorry if one is separately available I cannot manage to enable it or find it.
