#1653 fixed Problems with Guest Additions in Windows 2000 guest after upgrade from 1.56 to 1.60 Rod Schaffter
Description

I have a Windows 2000 VM that worked well under 1.56 on a SuSE Linux 10.3 host. After upgrading to 1.60, I upgraded the Guest Additions in the VMto the one that came with 1.60. The guest VM now randomly hangs, sometimes at a blank desktop early in the boot process, other times after a few minutes have elapsed. Sending Crtl-alt-del just blanks the desktop, and sending an ACPI shutdown has no effect. Chkdsk shows no problems.

Programs runnning on start up are Commodo Firewall, Avast Antivirus and Spybot.

#1654 fixed Windows XP blue screen and particular USB device => Fixed in SVN mieses
Description

The Windows host crashes with a blue screen depending on the attached USB storage device.

I am running Ubuntu 8.04 32bit guest in VirtualBox 1.6 on a Windows XP SP3 host (32bit).

One USB device consistently causes the Windows host to crash with a blue screen. The second USB device works.

The white text on the blue screen refers to vboxusb.sys.

When the problem USB device is attached while the VirtualBox machine is running, the machine crashes immediately.

When the problem USB device is attached before starting the machine, The Windows XP host crashes during the beginning of the client boot process.

The problem USB device is recognized by Ubuntu 8.04 without issue when Ubuntu is running natively, without VirtualBox.

USB 2.0 is enabled in the Machine settings.

USB device filters were created for the USB devices.

The Windows Add New Hardware Wizard for the VirtualBox USB device appeared twice (once for each USB device when it was attached). The install process was allowed to complete in each case.

The problem device is a USB drive enclosure with In-Systems USB 2.0 chipset and Oxford 911+ FireWire chipset product link

I've been trying to get Virtual Box versions 1.4-1.6 working on my Windows XP SP2 32-bit machine for a while with no success.
