#6481 obsolete Mouse pointer hangs on right edge of the screen Manuel Lentner
Description

I had a working setup of two guest machines (Debian5 and Windows XP) on my Windows 7 host. On the Debian5 machine, I'm using software which uses uinput for generating mouse events. For this reason i have to disable the guest-additions mouse integration (Host + I) to make this software working properly. But that's not the problem here.

Then I changed from VirtualBox 3.1.4 to 3.1.6, including an update of the guest additions. Now, I'm facing problems with the mouse integration, which are obviously a bug in virtual box: With activated mouse integration, everything works as usual. When i disable the mouse integration (Shortkey: Host + I), the mouse pointer hangs instantly on the right edge of the guest screen. I'm not able to move the mouse pointer away from this point, it seems to be fixed there. With very fast movements of the mouse i can displace the pointer some pixels far, but it returns instantly to the "magic attraction point". As said above, this is only related to a Linux Host with installed guest additions AND with disabled mouse integration. On my windows guest, there's no problem with 3.1.6.

See also the attached xorg.conf file, which was auto generated by the guest additions installer. I'm using Xfce as window manager.

#6486 obsolete Norton Antivirius 2009 Will Not Start in 3.1.6 Craig Andersen
Description

With host @ openSuSE 11.2 (cpu Intel i7) and guest Windows XP the OS runs however Norton Antivirius 2009 will not start and I can find no event or reason.

3.1.4 runs with no issues. 3.1.6 has the Norton issue

I understand more information is needed but could not find logs or events that would shine light on this.

Seems like obviously there is a difference in the environment, but what ?!

#6489 obsolete USB camera always enabled mwisnicki
Description

I have USB2 (UVC-compatible) webcam connected to my host that has activity led indicating whether camera is enabled.

Whenever I start virtual machine my camera's led turns on and stays that way until VM shutdown. This happens even if I completely disable USB support in VM configuration.
I can still use camera in host system but it's really annoying and has security/privacy implications - I wouldn't know if some malware was observing me ;)

At the very least USB devices should not be molested if USB is disabled. It would be even nicer if that was true with USB enabled - for every device that is not attached to any running guest.
