| #4640 | fixed | Error on Windows Vista (64bit) Host when trying to create new virtual drive | ||
| Description |
Every time i try to create a new virtual drive (for a Linux openSuSE 64bit guest) i get the following error: Die virtuelle Festplatte H:\Dateien\Linux\virtualmachine_images\openSuSEvirtualbox.vdi konnte nicht erzeugt werden. Could not save the settings file 'C:\Users\black\.VirtualBox\VirtualBox.xml' (VERR_ACCESS_DENIED). Details: Fehlercode: VBOX_E_FILE_ERROR (0x80BB0004) Komponente: VirtualBox Interface: IVirtualBox {3f4ab53a-199b-4526-a91a-93ff62e456b8} Both files exist. So that shouldn't be the problem. I can't find a VBox.log file. VirtualBox 3.0.2 is installed the first time on my computer. |

| #3558 | duplicate | Problems with 32bit ubuntu host and 64bit RH5.3 guest | ||
| Description |
I`m trying to install a 64bit RH guest on top of a 32bit ubuntu intrepid (8.10). The HW is a thinkpad 61P Vbox version is 2.1.4 I created the image (Normal 8G), and have the following settings: OS Type:Red Hat (64 bit) Base Memory:1024 MB Video Memory:12 MB Boot Order:CD/DVD-ROM, Hard Disk ACPI:Enabled IO APIC:Enabled VT-x/AMD-V:Enabled Nested Paging:Enabled PAE/NX:Disabled 3D Acceleration:Disabled I copied the DVD image to a file (make it sure, there are no issues with the cdrom), and configured it as cdrom. All the time when I start the virtualbox the operating system starts from the image, boot menu comes nicely. Then I try to continue, kernel and inintramfs is getting loaded on the guest, then the whole system is getting frozen (the host!). Or it reboots. This is the case all the time, so this is not just a random problem. Has anyone had the same problem? I downloaded the latest version of VirtualBox for ubuntu intrepid, so this is th package I have: ii virtualbox-2.1 2.1.4-42893_Ubuntu_intrepid Sun xVM VirtualBox I`m attaching the Vbox.log to the report.
