Description

On first run after fresh install on Win XP (SP2) host VirtualBox 1.5.4 ( 1.5.2 as well) application crashes with fatal error due to usp10.dll. Works OK with older version of usp10.dll ( from win2K) put directly in application installation folder.

#13837 duplicate Application error when saving the machine state Fido
Description

Hello,

I have the latest Virtualbox version 4.3.22 installed on my Windows 8.1 host machine. I'm running an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32-bit guest OS. I noticed that whenever I choose to save the machine state, I get the progress bar that ends up with the following error:

VirtualBox.exe - Application Error

The instruction at 0x6b6f4f7c referenced memory at 0x41fd0ce0. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program

However, the machine state is never saved and Virtualbox shows the machine has been Aborted. I had the same issue with the previous version also.

I'm attaching the Vbox.log file. However I tried to create mini dump by following the instructions provided, but I'm not getting any, probably because the application doesn't crash completely.

By looking at seemingly similar issues, I do confirm that disabling 3D Acceleration does the job and eliminates this bug for my case, but degrades VM performance on the other side.

Thanks!
