| #1516 | fixed | Guest SUSE Linux 10.x causes Windows XP to crash with bluescreen -> fixed in 1.6.2 | ||
| Description |
I often have Windows crashes with bluescreens running SUSE Linux 10.x as a guest. It happenes when:
-- trying to use USB drives; The crash may also happen withoun any noticable reason and it makes an impression of extreme instability of VirtualBox. I did not have any such issue with VMware or VPC. I suspect that this instability may be caused by my hardware features (Athlon64X2+nForce570) because my neighbour uses similar hardware and encounters the same instability issues but one of my friens uses all Intel platform and he does not have any problem with VirtualBox' stability. I also running special applications that may contribute to VirtualBox' instability (my neighbour runs absolutely different such software). Those are:
-- DrWeb antivirus; I tried VirtualBox versions from 1.5.2 to 1.6.0 and all of them caused frequent crashes. |

| #1518 | fixed | Issue on HardDisk when convert from old 1.2-windows file format => Fixed in SVN | ||
| Description |
When converting machine descriptions from VirtualBox 1.5.6 the new 1.6.0, I had one disk converted incorrectly from /dev/hdd1 to /dev/hdb1. In the xml description, it was converted from
to
which means the channel was not converted correctly. I didn't have IDE0-slave set for this machine, only IDE0-master. But the two HardDisks seamed to be converted sequentially in the available slots. |

| #1519 | fixed | Missing VirtualBox 1.6.0 debian repository for Hardy Heron | ||
| Description |
Hello together, I'm missing the debian way of installing signed virtualbox 1.6.0 by repository. Did your team forget the debian ubuntu users who want to keep in touch of new releases of virtualbox by just adding the /etc/apt/sources.list? I used that way since spring 2007 and it worked like a charme. But now I tried to step forward with the following entries for Ubuntu 8.04 versions: # VirtualBox debian source by InnoTek GmbH/Sun Microsystems deb http://www.virtualbox.org/debian hardy non-free No success :-( latest version working was deb http://www.virtualbox.org/debian gutsy non-free Ubuntu 8.04 (=hardy) was released two weeks ago. Hardy is a long term support version (desktop editions until 2011 and server edition until 2013). In my opinion Ubuntu hardy will be more requested than older ones. Sure I know the binaries related to Hardy Heron can be downloaded at your Sun download center and installed the manual alternate way. But why running the hard way if you can get the best one like before? And, did your team revoke that common usual download way with signed packages? If yes, will that be announced? A lot of ubuntu users would like to have a download possibility at http://www.virtualbox.org/debian/dists/hardy/non-free/binary-i386/Packages.gz or similar. An alternate will be to get the virtualbox from the ubuntu repositories, but do you have an agreement with the ubuntu repository staff to do that right after your release day? Kind regards Roland |
