| #6091 | obsolete | Paste into windows guest from linux host hangs | ||
| Description |
When copying text from the linux host running Fedora Core 9 X86_64 and pasting into the guest running XP SP3 the program being pasted into hangs and consumes CPU. Problem reproduces using a VM created with VMware as well as with a vbi created from within Virtual box. Paste works fine if I deinstall the VB add-ons and start the VM under VMware after installing the VMware tools. Problem reproduces with:
And now with:
Guest add-ons were installed from each version and problem still reproduces. The issues sounds a lot like #5584, but I do not see the same messages in the /var/log/messages file. |

| #6099 | obsolete | BUG soft lockup CPU#0 stuck for 80s [hald-addon-stor:2039] | ||
| Description |
Running Debian Linux with Guest additions on Windows XP host. Have both fixed and transient shared folders. Use multiple SSH (Windows) clients to access VirtualBox. When starting up two disk intensive background jobs in one shell, when trying to do TAB-completion on a filename on a shared directory on the other shell, the shell hangs. Doing the same with a third shell will hang it too. A fourth shell that had Emacs running still responded to the Emacs commands, but after exiting it, and trying a 'ps' that one hung too. In the console window I saw the above message [57723.988341] BUG soft lockup CPU#0 stuck for 80s [hald-addon-stor:2039] When I tried to login on the console, I saw the 'welcome' message, but after that the console hung too. VirtualBox itself did not crash, I could still pause/resume the Debian VirtualBox. |
