| #4578 | obsolete | skype 4.1 resets the Linux host | ||
| Description |
B.H.
I'm using VBox 3.0.2 on a 64bit Ubuntu 9.04 host. 4 GB of RAM, Intel I've installed guest Windows XP home edition (32 bit), installed all updates and SP3, then installed a newly released Skype 4.1. Skype's installation went without problems, but then, when skype was trying to log me in, after 20-30 seconds of "Logging in..." screen, the host system was suddenly reset without any error message. After reset, i didn't find any "kernel panic" reports in the logs, the system just died. The same thing happens every time i try to run skype in the guest. I've tried to use a NAT networking and also a briged networking with the same results. I don't currently have a VBox.log to attach, i hope to remember to sent it latter when i get to that system again Thanks! |

| #16938 | fixed | since 5.1.24 not just one PulseAudio sink gets created but 10 | ||
| Description |
i am running debian, but same happens (at least) on Arch as well. For linux VM's (with Audio being ICH AC97), there are too many sinks created on the host. I am currently working around this by using Intel Audio instead. The host has too many audio controls (sliders) and after just 2 VM's (which use up 20 of them) i can no longer control host applications volume in the mixer. |
