#2106 obsolete taskbar issues with Windows Host&Guest in seamless mode A20_user
Description

seamless mode, tested with Vista Host and XP Guest. After accessing any Guest window, both taskbars pop up (both set to auto hide, behavior clearly visible if Host taskbar is sized larger than Guest), but Guest taskbar gets focus. If not clicked, it stays open until you move mouse into a visible Guest window are (even if this is not the topmost window), stays open if click into Host window, that means it does not get the info that mouse left it already. If this is easy to fix, please do so.

While Guest taskbar open, Host taskbar does not pop up again after leaving and re-entering bottom edge. After clicking on desktop or any Host window, only Host taskbar pops up. Moved my Host taskbar to side and see: Guest taskbar at bottom pops up independent from last active window, but is hidden behind Host windows or Host taskbar. This is just to note the observation.

While a Guest window is topmost, Host taskbar pops up but behind Host and Guest windows. Host taskbar gets the info that VirtualBox application is active window, but would be better if it did not show any active window. Guest taskbar does not get info that no Guest window is active. Probably difficult to address. I do not expect any fix.

#2114 fixed VBoxSVC.exe crashes on USB attach/detach to Guest A20_user
Description

Vista Host, XP Guest Attached USB card reader and USB mouse to Guest, only USB not USB2 controller enabled. Disabled the mouse, it reappeared under Host control, but Host reported a "Sun xVM VirtualBox Interface" does no longer work. Guest was still working, but showed no USB devices in its list. I cleanly shut down Guest. The main GUI was still working, but believes Guest still "Running". There is no hint in Machine log about problem. Found this in Windows Event log, which should be the match according to file description: Fehlerhafte Anwendung VBoxSVC.exe, Version 1.0.0.1, Zeitstempel 0x48bee051, fehlerhaftes Modul VBoxDDU.dll, Version 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel 0x48bedf20, Ausnahmecode 0xc0000005, Fehleroffset 0x0001b874, Prozess-ID 0x9cc, Anwendungsstartzeit 01c90f85be876c84.

Restarted Host. GUI believes at least Guest is "Powered off", ok. Same procedure for USB mouse, same problem, basically same log: Fehlerhafte Anwendung VBoxSVC.exe, Version 1.0.0.1, Zeitstempel 0x48bee051, fehlerhaftes Modul VBoxDDU.dll, Version 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel 0x48bedf20, Ausnahmecode 0xc0000005, Fehleroffset 0x0001b874, Prozess-ID 0xac4, Anwendungsstartzeit 01c90faf39d1b9ac.

Mouse and card reader drivers are Microsoft. VMware Player drivers are on the Host, too, but Player is not running.

Just terminated VirtualBox, started it again. Mouse and card reader are not enabled. Try to enable card reader, V.B. gives error "Failed to attach the USB device ..." - I hate to type everything from dialog just because Copy does not work - ... is busy with a previous request, Result code: E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057), Component: HostUSBDevice, Interface: IHostUSBDevice ..., Callee: IConsole.

Same error for mouse. Same error for card reader after unplug and reconnect.

Host restart. Mouse and card reader show again their checkmarks and are assigned to Guest. This time I uncheck the card reader. Still no crash. Uncheck mouse, still no crash. Checkmark card reader again, crash, exactly the same crash code and error offset.

When starting the main GUI, a log entry appears: Fehler bei der usbperf-Datensammlung. Die Collect-Funktion wurde mit einem nicht unterstützten Abfragetyp aufgerufen. English, raw translation: Error at usbperf data collection. The collect function has been called with an unsupported request type.

Such entries seem to reappear as long as main GUI is running, but not necessarily all 2 minutes.

#2116 wontfix Feature Request: Design of Mouse pointer integration A20_user
Description

Host=Win-Vista, Guest=Win-XP The Guest Additions mouse pointer integration seems to be a bit dirty or at least incomplete. A real Windows always moves the visible mouse pointer regardless which one of the multiple mouse or trackpad connected to it is used. But with Guest additions and an USB mouse attached to Guest directly, the visible mouse pointer is not moved by that USB mouse, but only the (invisible) hot spot is moved. I did not test whether user applications positioning the mouse pointer see the same non-responsiveness.

Yes, to me it makes sense to give Guest its own mouse and keyboard. I do not expect to move the mouse pointer outside of Guest working area using this USB mouse.
