| #1324 | fixed | VBoxMouse incompatible with "SMS Virtual Mouse" driver - Pointer integration broken -> Fixed in SVN | ||
| Description |
SymptomsWhen Mouse Pointer Integration is enabled, the pointer moves diagonally down and right, regardless of the actual pointer movement. Sometimes the actual pointer rendered on the screen appears at the position where the host's cursor is, sometimes it appears where the guest thinks it is. Disabling "Mouse Integration" (ie, forcing the interface to capture the pointer) seems to work just fine, the pointer renders properly and works properly (can be moved in all directions). WorkaroundBy disabling the "SMS Virtual Mouse" device in the Device Manager and rebooting, pointer integration started working properly again. Suggested fixPerhaps simply changing the VBoxMouse driver to ignore the SMS Virtual Mouse device altogether would be enough. On my system, the SMS Virtual Mouse driver has: Manufacturer: Microsoft SMS Solutions Driver Version: 2.50.4136.2000 Device Instance Id: ROOT/*SMS_MOUSE/0000 Hardware Ids: *SMS_MOUSE System InformationGuest: Win XP. I don't know a lot about the "SMS" software, except that is used to push software updates to the PC and apparently has some sort of remote-control facility built in which would use this virtual mouse driver. Host: Gentoo Linux running VirtualBox 1.5.6 |

| #1325 | fixed | Unable to start VM on mac. | ||
| Description |
Getting an intermittent problem on a new powermac (2008 dual quad) and I haven't been able to fully identify what causes the error, but it does happen eventually and doesn't resolve itself unless you reboot. In this particular instance, I had stopped and started a guest a number of times without issue, and then created a new guest as well. At one point I attempted to turn on the VRDP capabilities, and when I attempted to start the next guest, I got the error below. This error occurs when attempting to start any guest on the system except for solaris which now errors out with a VBox status code: -8 (VERR_NO_MEMORY) instead. If your looking for any additional log files, just let me know which ones. Unknown error creating VM. VBox status code: -32 (VERR_INTERNAL_ERROR). | #1327 | fixed | mouse capture partly works | ||
| Description |
VBox ver.: 1.5.6, Host: Win XP, Guest OpenSuse 10.3 (guest additions installed) When booting the guest, no automatic mouse capture occurs even though guest additions are installed. I am able to click-to-capture and ctrl-to-release the mouse. If I da a ctrl-alt-bkspc to restart the X server, automatic mousr capture starts to work. |
