#772 obsolete alt-tab switch to remote desktop (vrdp) session results in garbage when typing ahmedis
Description

I have a CentOS 4.4 guest running on a Windows XP SP2 host. The guest has been started in headless more using "vboxvrdp -startvm". I use the Windows XP remote desktop client to connect to the guest without problems. However if I alt-tab switch windows away and back to the guest any characters typed are garbled, i.e. appear as if they're are prefixed with a control key. e.g. If I type 'asd' this shows up as [a[s[d. The only way to resolve this is to switch virtual consoles while connected to the guest. So Alt-F2 (to swtich to console 2) and then Alt-F1 (to switch back to console 1). If I then switch windows and switch back to the guest the same thing occurs and requires using the workaround to be able to type anything.

#773 obsolete Keyboard protector ActiveX control crashes VirtualBox maruchi
Description

Keyboard protector ActiveX control crashes VirtualBox

Since the banks are all forced to use ActiveX, all Korean internet banking users have to install this kind of programs. But these programs crash VirtualBox.
And this is not only to me. Every users have this. http://kldp.org/node/82263
I wish you can read Korean.

This procedure does not requre any personal informations. Any accounts, certificates are not needed.
Anyone can try this safely.
Since I guess you are not familiar with Korean web-sites, I attach screenshots. The file name is screenshots.zip.

  1. open up IE and go to: http://www.wooribank.com
  2. some dialog pops up. click 'OK' button.
  3. should install XecureWeb Control v7.0.
  4. try to login to the site (See 003.png from screenshots.zip.) but should install Client Keeper KeyPro Keyboard Protector. (This is a trouble maker.)
  5. login to the site. See 005.png from screenshots.zip.
  6. XecureWeb Control program pops up. you can type any key there.
  7. can confirm the crash for certain.

This is not a problem that only Client Keeper Keypro Keyboard Protector is producing. All Keyboard Protectors (SoftCamp Secure KeyStroke, nProtect KeyCrypt, K-Defence8 Control too) are making this.

#774 duplicate "Bug" on Virtualbox 1.5 with Via C7 CPU: Can't run XP guest ringmaster
Description

It was discovered in february this year as Heike C. Zimmerer wrote (see: http://www.mail-archive.com/vbox-users@virtualbox.org/msg00423.html ), but it's still a problem. When I install Win XP SP2 as guest on Kubuntu 7.10 host with a C7 Esther processor it refuses to install.

With my previous C3 Samuel without cmov Virtualbox 1.4 WinXP run perfectly (vmplayer complained), but now with C7 (it's like a i686) I can't run it...

Description of the problem: I think that Virtualbox passes a CPUID that this broken XP misunderstands with another CPU, so refuses to continue:

| Windows requires certain processor features that are not available | on the processor in this computer. Specifically, Windows requires the | following instructions. | | CPUID | CMPXCHG8B | | Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.

I know that probably it is a problem of buggy windows, but natively it runs, so please change the reported CPUID to make it run. Thank you for your attention. I usually support the projects that I enjoy, with money or help, and this project will have a brilliant future (virtualization will be a must soon).

Kind regards from Spain,

David Losada (Ringmaster)
