#5171 worksforme VB 3.0.8 Phantom Record of Attached CD Image Chris Williams
Description

Environment:

  • Linux 2.6.30 host (32-bit)
  • VBox 3.0.8 binary version
  • Windows XP SP3 or Vista client (32-bit)

Possibly related issue: #3071

Steps to reproduce:

  • Start a clean Windows client with no attached CD image
  • Attach a CD image (e.g. VBox Guest Additions)
  • Close the client using the host window close button and select "Power Off Machine" and "Revert to current snapshot"
  • Restart the client. Note that client starts without attached image.
  • Attempt to attach the same CD image
  • Cannot attach: Virtual Media Manager claims it is already attached (see screen shot)
  • Virtual Media Manager will not release the image (reports no error)
  • Attaching another image works: does not release the phantom attachment
  • Phantom attachment stays until VirtualBox modules are unloaded/reloaded

I have reproduced this several times on Windows XP and Vista clients and with old 3.x VMs and fresh 3.0.8 machines.

#7867 obsolete Quicken 2010 Crash Shared Folders Chrisas
Description

I am running VirtualBox 3.2.12 r68302 on a Fedora 13 host (2.6.34.7-63.fc13.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Dec 3 12:38:46 UTC 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux). The guest OS is WinXP Pro Service Pack 3 (32 bit).

I can copy the quicken data file from a shared folder to a local drive in the guest OS. Quicken opens the local copy, closes successfully, and remembers to open the same data file on the next startup.

If I open the data file from the shared folder, quicken opens it, I can use quicken, but when I close quicken, I get qw.exe - Application Error: The instruction at "0x7c910a19" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". The next time quicken is started, it comes up with the new user wizard instead of remembering to open the data file in the shared folder.

#8073 invalid VirtualBox Extension Pack does not support all platforms Christer Solskogen
Description

The Download page says that the extension pack is for all platforms. That is not entirely true. The pack does not work for FreeBSD(yet?) The best solution would be that the pack do support FreeBSD ;-) But since I wont hold my breath on that one, the documentation should be updated.
