#5474 obsolete Keyspan USA-19QW on host Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 64-bit guest XP ajoliveira
Description

Hello

Mentioned USB hardware was working on a XP guest on vb 3.08 in Jaunty 9.04 64-bit (well, had to disable and enable it again, but it worked). After upgrading to 9.10, blue screen every time I want to use it and XP crash when I click at the bottom status bar to select it. Upgraded vb to 3.10, same result, device unusable.

lets check dmsg output:

it stated on 9.04:

[34923.500028] usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 [34923.654165] usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [34924.499312] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial [34924.499335] USB Serial support registered for generic [34924.499374] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic [34924.499377] usbserial: USB Serial Driver core [34924.505696] USB Serial support registered for Keyspan - (without firmware) [34924.505718] USB Serial support registered for Keyspan 1 port adapter [34924.505737] USB Serial support registered for Keyspan 2 port adapter [34924.505758] USB Serial support registered for Keyspan 4 port adapter [34924.505787] keyspan 2-2:1.0: Keyspan - (without firmware) converter detected [34924.505794] usb 2-2: firmware: requesting keyspan/usa19qw.fw [34924.598338] usb 2-2: Required keyspan firmware image (keyspan/usa19qw.fw) unavailable. [34924.598373] usbcore: registered new interface driver keyspan [34924.598377] keyspan: v1.1.5:Keyspan USB to Serial Converter Driver

usa19qw.fw was proprietary firmware, hence not available

and now on 9.10:

[24074.182589] usb 3-3: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 5 [24074.402313] usb 3-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [24074.405250] keyspan 3-3:1.0: Keyspan - (without firmware) converter detected [24074.405267] usb 3-3: firmware: using built-in firmware keyspan/usa19qw.fw [24074.938396] usb 3-3: USB disconnect, address 5 [24074.938479] keyspan 3-3:1.0: device disconnected [24076.062566] usb 3-3: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 6 [24076.294283] usb 3-3: configuration #1 chosen from 2 choices [24076.297964] keyspan 3-3:1.0: Keyspan 1 port adapter converter detected [24076.298193] usb 3-3: Keyspan 1 port adapter converter now attached to ttyUSB0

so device is attached to ttySB0

that is the difference I can spot. I have never used this adapter on ubuntu, only on the guest.

cheers

Antonio

#5485 obsolete iSCSI initiator name not accepted on NetApp web interface ktk
Description

The VirtualBox default initiator name is not accepted by the NetApp webinterface, in the log I find:

Tue Nov 17 13:35:45 CET [iscsi.notice:notice]: ISCSI: New session from initiator iqn.2008-04.com.sun.virtualbox.initiator at IP addr 192.168.96.15

It is possible to attach it on the NetApp command line though, but the log still complains.

#5496 obsolete After installation of Virtualbox 3.0.12 on Windows XP some desktop icons on the host got lost dcysarz
Description

I installed Virtualbox 3.0.12 on my Dell notebook with Windows XP as the host. After the installation some of my desktop icons got lost (see attached file). The same icons also got lost in the 'Start/Programs' folder. I'd be happy if this problem could be solved. Everything else works fine (using Kubuntu 9.10 as a guest).
