| #2362 | obsolete | ActivCard smart card reader fails | ||
| Description |
I have an ActivCard 2 smart card reader attached to the host PC (Windows XP Pro) and the virtual machine is also running Windows XP Pro (both SP3). The card reader works correctly with the host machine, but is not recognized by the VM. If I hover over the USB icon at the bottom of the VM window it says "No USB devices attached." If I right-click that icon and select the card reader I receive an error dialog (screen shot will be attached to this ticket). I have installed all the components to ActivClient 6.1 on the guest (and host) machine. |

| #132 | fixed | Activation of screensaver blocks system when cursor is caught in VirtualBox => Fixed in 1.5.6 | ||
| Description |
On my Ubuntu 6.10 with VirtualBox 1.3.6, I cannot get "my screen back" if the cursor is caught in VirtualBox (running winxp pro with latest patch level) and my linux "blank screen" screensaver pops in (without the "lock screen" option). Restarting the X-server with ctrl-alt-backspace is the only thing that works. Trying to release the cursor by pressing ctrl-R followed by whatever action usually finishes the screensaver does not work. If I remember to release the cursor from VirtualBox before the screensaver pops in, everthing is fine. |

| #4853 | fixed | ActiveState perl GetUNCName doesn't return Windows UNC path => Fixed in SVN/3.0.8 | ||
| Description |
I have run into what I think is a bug, I am starting to use VirtualBox to test Windows XP deployments and the software we use is written in perl and it makes a call to Win32::NetResource::GetUNCName() which should return the UNC name when it is given a network drive letter. Unfortunately it fails within the VirtualBox hosted guest OS. I tried with ActivePerl 5.8.9.826 and 5.10.0.1005 and I get the same results. Here are the results. Real Windows XP SP3 C:\>Z:\testunc2.pl Calling GetUNCName z: success $ret = \pcserver\homes VirutalBox Windows XP SP3 C:\>Z:\testunc2.pl Calling GetUNCName z: $ret = Unable to GetUNCName for z:: The network name cannot be found at y:\testunc2.pl line 21. I have attached a test perl script. Products Involved VirtualBox 3.0.4 Host OS: OpenSolaris 2009.06 Guest OS: Windows XP SP3 Perl: ActiveState 5.8.9.826 and 5.10.0.1005 Deployment software: Unattended (http://unattended.sourceforge.net/) |
