#19567 invalid No hardware acceleration in BIOS makes impossible to set new virtual machine jarroyo1982
Description

(the attached image shows the bug a a glance)

The problem is: The “Acceleration” tab of the Virtual Machine settings dialog pops up an error when no hardware acceleration is available in host machine. The error forces the user to disable any accelerations before hitting OK to close the settings dialog. After performing the requested operation, the error keeps popping up thus the proper configuration of the Virtual Machine is impossible. This seems to be just a trivial logical error when VirtualBox reviews the user settings.

Steps to reproduce: [1] Enter the BIOS in host machine and disable any hardware acceleration for virtual machines. For example, Intel Virtualization Technology. [2] Create a new virtual machine in VirtualBox 6.1 using the MACHINE -> NEW command. In my case, a Windows 95 with the default options. [3] Start the SETTINGS dialog for the new machine. The dialog reports an error stating the hardware acceleration capabilities are enabled even the host machine does not support it (we disabled them in step 1). [4] Follow the error guidelines: Go to SYSTEM -> ACCELERATION tab and disable any hardware acceleration capabilities. [5] This should allow us to click OK and close the dialog, but the error keeps popping up. It seems the dialog isn't noticing we followed the error guidelines!
